Bug-A-Salt gun

I bought a Bug-A-Salt in July 2026 for £68.97. It is a spring-loaded gun that fires a small charge of table salt at flies. This review covers my first few months of use.

Score: 8/10

At a glance

  • It works.

  • Entertaining to use.

  • Leaves salt to clear up.

First three months (July to October 2026)

It is more effective than I expected and quite entertaining to use. It is more satisfying than chasing flies with a rolled-up newspaper.

The salt does make a mess. That matters more indoors than outdoors.

Verdict so far

A fun gadget that works. The next updates will look at whether the mechanism stays reliable and whether I keep using it. My next update is due in late October 2026.
