Thriva home blood test review

Thriva sells blood tests you take at home. You prick your finger, fill a small tube and post it to a lab. A doctor reviews the results and you read them in the Thriva app. Tests start from under £100 (Thriva website, October 2026). Thriva says it can test more than 75 health markers. You can pay per test or take a subscription.
What is good
The kit is easy to use and the instructions are clear.
Results come back within a few days of posting the sample.
The app shows each result over time. This is the main reason to test more than once. One test tells you less than three tests taken a few months apart.
The app connects to Whoop, Apple Health, Oura and Garmin. You can see blood results next to sleep and activity data.
What is not good
Filling the tube from a finger prick takes time. If the sample is too small, the lab cannot test it and you have to do it again.
The doctor's comments can be general. For a result outside the normal range, the advice is often to see your GP. Your GP may then want a new NHS blood test.
The cost adds up on a subscription. Some other providers offer a wider panel, with a nurse taking blood from a vein, for less per marker.
Verdict
Thriva is a good way to track a few markers over time, such as vitamin D, iron, cholesterol and HbA1c. It is less useful as a one-off check. If you want one detailed test, a venous test from another provider may give more for the money.
